Since 1998 Wood has participated in numerous mentor protégé programs sponsored by Air Force, Army, Navy GSA, USAID and SBA. We have provided support with financial audits, human resources, marketing, proposals, business development, geographic expansion, safety training, technical assistance and shared office space. These programs allow small businesses to compete more successfully for federal contracts, expand their capabilities and service lines, reach new clients and broaden their geographic reach. We have been recognized with various awards for our mentoring efforts, including the Nunn Perry Awards from the DOD and Excellence in Mentorship Award from USAID. Wood currently has two protégés through the SBA’s All Small Mentor Protégé Program.

What we seek in a potential protégé:

  • Previous working relationship with Wood
  • Services do not compete with our existing protégé firm(s)
  • Potential long-term strategic value
  • Desired growth
  • Development needs where Wood could provide mentoring
  • Services that align well with Wood’s core services
  • Compatible values and business strategy
