Amec Foster Wheeler announces today that it has been appointed as preferred engineering partner by Applied Graphene Materials, a leading innovator in the manufacture and application of graphene.

The contract, the amount of which has not been disclosed, involves the pre-Front End Engineering Design (FEED) provision of engineering support, working with the client to refine its conceptual design for a proposed commercial scale plant, in advance of the FEED study.

Amec Foster Wheeler is providing engineering recommendations to support the commercial development of Applied Graphene Materials’ proprietary process. In the pilot stage this has produced high purity graphene nanoplatelets based on sustainable, readily available raw materials. This is in contrast to other graphene production techniques which rely on the supply of graphite.

I’m delighted to bring together the combined skills and expertise of Amec Foster Wheeler to deliver cutting edge solutions to support the commercial development of Applied Graphene Materials’ exciting new technology. We have a solid track record in undertaking studies and developing innovative and practical solutions for proprietary technology providers.
