London, United Kingdom (10 August 2015) – Amec Foster Wheeler is celebrating 50 years of delivering world class oil and gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and power projects from its Glasgow office, marked by celebrations for employees and their families at the weekend.

The company has been in Glasgow since 1965, where it first opened an office in Union Street. It later moved to West George Street in 1977 and finally to the current location at Foster Wheeler House in 1997 where over 200 people now work.

On Saturday, 8 August, the Glasgow team, joined by their families, celebrated 50 years of working in Glasgow to deliver projects across the globe, from Scotland to as far afield as Canada, Brazil, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Pakistan, Norway and China.

We’ve seen many changes in this office, moving from drawing boards to our current advanced integrated engineering suite, and with the support of the company’s 40,000 staff across the globe, our Glasgow office is well positioned to continue to serve the oil and gas industry around the world.
