Schoolgirls from the north-east of Scotland gained valuable insight into the energy industry at an event hosted by Wood Group and Centrica.
Twenty girls had the opportunity to engage with female engineers from both companies in a visit, focused on inspiring more young women to consider a science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) career.
Stemettes, an organisation which aims to attract more young women to industries where they are traditionally under-represented, were also involved in the event, which showcased different types of engineering within the oil and gas industry and the international opportunities available.
Samantha Murray, a structural engineer for Wood Group Kenny and a STEM ambassador says: “Shining a light on the vast and diverse career prospects that exist in the oil and gas industry is crucial to nurturing new talent.
"Females working in process, integrity, structural and subsea engineering from across Wood Group, were involved in the day, sharing their experience, supporting interactive activities and offering advice to the girls on how to pursue a career in the sector."
