Wood Group scooped two prestigious accolades in the inaugural Press & Journal Gold Awards.
We took home the ‘Most Influential Company of the Past 50 Years’ and the ‘Global Impact’ honours in the awards, developed to celebrate the historic milestone of 50 years in the North Sea’s history.
The way in which Wood Group has impacted the oil and gas industry through its operations and culture was recognised in the ‘Most Influential Company of the Past 50 Years category’. Our execution of groundbreaking projects such as the decommissioning of Shell’s Brent Spar platform, and innovative introduction of Gulf of Mexico best practice to the North Sea through BP’s Clair project, helped secure the award.
The focus on internalisation which has seen Wood Group grow across four decades to provide services in 50 countries was acknowledged in the 'Global Impact' award. The win recognised our commitment to sharing best practice, technological innovations and industry expertise developed in North Sea operations, across the globe. Our support of international communities where we operate through developing local talent, engaging with the local supply chain and providing charitable support was also acknowledged in the award win.
Bob Keiller, chief executive officer of Wood Group says: "We are extremely honoured to receive these accolades. They recognise Wood Group’s leading role in game-changing industry projects and our commitment to using our knowledge and experience from 40 years’ operating in the North Sea, to deliver innovative and value-enhancing solutions to our international clients."
