As part of our social responsibility shared value, Wood Group aims to make a positive difference to the communities where we operate and seeks ways to assist them. Wood Group’s Founders Legacy programme, established in 2007, invests in the education of middle school children; which is typically the age when students begin to define their sense of self, vision of the future and career path  We provide monetary, mentorship and volunteer support for  schools and it is through this unique partnership that Wood Group was able to donate a total of $20,000 to Morton Ranch Junior High (MRJH), a local middle school located near our regional headquarters in Houston, in 2016.

“Wood Group is pleased to be able to provide support to our leaders of tomorrow through our Founders Legacy programme,” said Michele McNichol, CEO for Wood Group’s Asset Life Cycle Solutions business in the west region. “Serving the communities where we are located has been ingrained in our business since its beginnings and we are proud that it remains an integral part of our culture today.”

In addition to the monetary contribution, Wood Group employees participate in volunteer engagement activities throughout the school year, such as mentoring, the Journal Pals programme, staff and student appreciation, student education and instructional support and school service activities.

The funds donated to the school will be used to support student leadership programmes and opportunities, career exploration and community engagement initiatives.
