Wood has received three awards recognising its zero-emission mobility team and its innovative digital tools for zero-emission fleet conversion and flood risk mitigation.
The accolades include two in the Technology Merit category and one in the Practice Development category in the 2021 Business Achievement Awards from Environmental Business International Inc., a publishing and research company that generates strategic market intelligence on emerging opportunities in the environmental and climate change Industries.

ZeroEmissionSimTM is an interactive cloud-based toolkit that provides detailed analysis for converting vehicle fleets to battery or hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles. The digital tool uses machine learnings and real-world data to model scenarios and help fleet operators understand the true capital and operating costs for vehicle upgrades, network hardware, infrastructure, energy and utilities when scaling fleets. Since launching ZeroEmissionSim, the application has been used for multiple stakeholders in Canada and the United States, to model implementation of full fleet electrification.
FloodVueTM is a remotely accessible, user-friendly tool that replaces standard floodplain maps with real-time, onsite, 4D visualisation. The augmented reality mobile app models potential flood scenarios by combining multiple data sources to create a clear, immersive picture of severe weather impacts at any location globally. FloodVue helps communities and organisations anticipate flood risks before being impacted.
Wood was also recognised in the Practice Development category for greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation, praising the conception of Wood’s newly formed zero-emission mobility team, a growth accelerator focused on reducing emissions through the transition to electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The growing team of transport and decarbonisation specialists have executed work scopes across North America, and have expanded into the global market, with a goal to increase revenue tenfold in 2022. The team is using its expertise to help fleet managers reduce GHG impact, from understanding emissions to full execution and consistent monitoring for the entire asset’s lifecycle.
