
Ken Gilmartin
Chief executive officer
Ken Gilmartin is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Wood and an executive member of its Board of Directors. He was appointed as CEO in July 2022, having joined the company in September 2021 to take on the role of Chief Operating Officer.
Ken is focused on delivering against the company’s strategic priorities of creating an inspired culture, driving performance excellence, and delivering profitable and sustainable growth.
Before joining Wood, Ken spent 15 years at Jacobs where he held a variety of operational and project leadership roles including Executive Vice President of the People & Places solutions business where he held operational responsibility for more than half of Jacobs’ overall business portfolio. Ken has worked internationally throughout his 25-year career including leading the delivery of major programmes across multiple sectors.
Originally from Ireland, Ken has lived and worked in Germany, Indonesia, Qatar, Egypt and the US. He is married and has three daughters.

David Kemp
Chief financial officer
David Kemp is Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Wood and an executive member of its Board of Directors. He became CFO of Wood Group in May 2015, having joined the company in 2013 as CFO of the former Wood Group PSN business.
David has 25 years' experience in the energy industry and prior to joining Wood Group, held executive roles at Trap Oil Group, Technip, Simmons and Company International, and Hess Corporation, working across finance, mergers & acquisitions and operations.
David is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds an honours degree in accountancy.

Azad Hessamodini
Executive President, Consulting
Azad Hessamodini became Executive President of Wood’s Consulting business in June 2022. In this role, he leads over 4000 professionals who provide technical and digital advisory solutions in areas including decarbonisation, hydrogen, carbon capture, asset optimisation and digital solutions.
Azad has over 25 years’ international experience in the construction, energy, management consulting, mining services and private equity sectors. He joined Wood in 2011 and initially led the APAC subsea field developments, deep water engineering and asset integrity divisions before moving into the growth & development function.
Most recently, he served as President of Growth and Development for Wood's Consulting business where he was responsible for development and implementation of growth strategies, and business planning globally.
Azad has a Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in civil and structural engineering and an MBA from the University of Western Australia.

Craig Shanaghey
Executive President, Projects
Craig Shanaghey is Executive President of Wood’s global Projects business. He assumed this role in February 2023 and took on executive responsibility for 14,000 talented people who deliver high value capital investment solutions in energy and materials markets across the globe.
With three decades of experience garnered in the pharmaceuticals, oil, gas and broader energy industries, Craig is a seasoned and proven leader. He has worked at Wood for almost two decades and was previously Executive President of the company’s global Operations business.
Throughout his career, Craig’s focus has been on delivering business growth and increased quality of earnings through innovative client and supplier partnerships, end market diversification, and an empowered and motivated workforce.
Craig is passionate about diversity and inclusion, and formally chaired Offshore Energies UK’s Diversity and Inclusion Task Group. In addition, Craig is a chartered engineer and a fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, a fellow of the Energy Institute and has also been appointed to the Advisory Board of AFBE UK, the Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers.

Steve Nicol
Executive President, Operations
Steve Nicol joined Wood’s Executive Leadership Team in February 2023 as Executive President of the global Operations business unit.
He is an accomplished leader with almost 30 years of professional experience including 20 years with Wood. Prior to his current role, Steve was Deputy Chief Financial Officer, responsible for driving financial performance, and before that served as Chief Financial Officer of Wood’s former Asset Solutions business across Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.
Steve is a Fellow member of the Association of the Chartered Certified Accountants and a Board member of the Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce. He lives in Aberdeen, with his wife and two children.

Lesley Birse
Executive President, People & Organisation
Lesley Birse became Executive President of People & Organisation (P&O) in November 2021.
Combining over 20 years of global human resources experience with a passion for harnessing the full potential of people to enable strategic direction, her focus is on ensuring Wood is future-focused, competitive and a great place for the global community to work together.
Prior to stepping into her current role, Lesley was P&O President of Wood’s Operations business unit, playing a pivotal role at the heart of key programmes to propel the evolution of the company. This includes optimising Wood’s organisational structure, strategic workforce planning, career development, talent retention and employee engagement, as well as driving gender diversity and nationalisation as part of the company’s sustainability commitments.
Before joining Wood, Lesley held senior positions with Canadian Natural Resources (CNR), Weatherford and Baker Hughes. She holds an MBA and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
She lives in Scotland with her family and in her spare time likes exploring new places, walking, golfing, Pilates, and socialising.

Jennifer Richmond
Executive president, Strategy & Development
Jennifer joined Wood in April 2022 to take on the role of Executive President of Strategy & Development.
She has over 20 years’ experience in delivering best-in-class solutions for clients, leading transformational programmes and identifying strategic growth areas.
In her current role, she holds executive responsibility for Wood’s growth through strategic planning, corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, and marketing and communications.
Before joining Wood, Jennifer worked at Jacobs where she held a variety of leadership roles including Senior Vice President of Sales for the Federal and Environmental Solutions business. Before that, she served as Senior Vice President for the Advancing National Security and Defence business where she led a worldwide team of 5000 people delivering mission-critical solutions to the U.S. Department of Defence and other government clients.
Jennifer lives with her family near Washington DC, US.
Mike Collins
Executive President, Business Sustainability & Assurance
Mike took on the role of Executive President of Business Sustainability & Assurance in February 2023. As part of this remit, he leads Wood’s focus on health, safety, security, sustainability, quality and supply chain across all business units.
Before assuming his current role, Mike was Executive President of Wood’s Projects business and has over 30 years of industry experience. He has held various senior leadership positions managing capital projects and operations delivery and held key functional roles leading project delivery assurance and major integration programmes.
Throughout his career he has lived and worked in Asia, Australia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe and considers it a privilege to have worked in such diverse cultural environments.
Mike holds a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) and is a qualified mechanical engineer. He lives in the UK with his wife and three children.
Martin McIntyre
General Counsel and Company Secretary
Martin McIntyre is General Counsel and Company Secretary. He joined Wood in 2000 and, since then, has helped guide the company through major economic, market, corporate and regulatory changes.
Prior to joining Wood, he worked with a leading Scottish law firm, where he was a partner in the firm’s corporate department. He became General Counsel of Wood Group in 2016 and, following the Group’s acquisition of Amec Foster Wheeler, he was appointed General Counsel and Company Secretary of the combined entity. He joined the Executive Leadership Team in 2022.
Martin has over 30 years of in-house and law firm experience including corporate transactions, litigation, compliance and legal risk management, and has led his legal teams to achieve several honors from the Legal 500 GC Powerlist, Insider Magazine and International Law Office Global Counsel Awards.
