Amec Foster Wheeler today announces its continued support for Australia’s Starlight Children’s Foundation and reveals it has raised more than AU$180,000 for the charity over the past four years.

Starlight aims to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families and has a presence in every major children’s hospital across Australia.

Since Amec Foster Wheeler nominated Starlight as its national charity in 2012, it has held an annual three-week fund raising campaign, with events such as bake sales, quiz nights and family days, in its Perth and Brisbane offices.

In addition to funds raised directly from personnel donations, the Company also contributes annually to the campaign. Funds raised go to supporting Starlight Programmes in Western Australia and Queensland.

We see many benefits in our support of Starlight, not only directly to the charity itself, but to our culture as an organisation.

In this current market, where everyone is under increased pressure to deliver more for less, campaigns like this give our people a chance to enjoy some fun engagement activities and give back to their community without comprising their productivity.

Charities like Starlight are under increasing pressure for funding and it’s important that organisations with the capacity to do so, continue their support.

Amec Foster Wheeler recently presented Starlight with a cheque for AU$ 49,430, raised during the 2015 campaign.

2016 will mark the fifth year that Amec Foster Wheeler has partnered with the Starlight Children’s Foundation. This year’s campaign will commence on Starlight Day, 6 May.
