Wood has been re-appointed by Homes England to its multidisciplinary framework to provide technical advice, consulting services, and design input to help prepare brownfield and surplus public sector land for residential development.

Homes England is the UK Government’s housing accelerator with objectives to ensure more homes are built in areas of greatest need and improve affordability by creating a more resilient and diverse housing market. The four-year programme will enable procurement of £100m ($130m) worth of services and will also be available to other public sector bodies.

Wood has an established 20-year relationship with Homes England and predecessors, and has supported many of its major programmes with a diverse range of environmental, planning, engineering and design services, working collaboratively alongside its other strategic partners to help deliver better homes faster. Drawing on its broad Environment & Infrastructure Solutions capability, Wood is committed to serving the wider UK public sector through several major consultancy frameworks providing effective procurement routes for its services.

Ann Massey, CEO of Wood’s Environment & Infrastructure Solutions business, said: “This contract aligns closely with our strategic commitment to the UK infrastructure market and reflects Homes England’s continued trust in our ability to support its accelerated housebuilding programme. Some 300,000 new homes will be needed each year by the mid-2020s.

“We look forward to helping Homes England deliver them as part of our overall commitment to enhancing UK infrastructure from housing and transportation to water, energy and waste.
