Wood recently supported Egypt’s largest solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant to commercial operation.

The 64.1 MWp Infinity 50 Solar Park, which is located in Benban, Aswan, is part of Benban’s solar development complex. It is expected to produce over 110,000 MWh per year – enough electricity to power almost 69,000 homes. On completion, Benban Solar Park will become one of the world’s largest solar generation facilities.

Wood’s clean energy team supported Bayerische Landesbank and the Arab African International Bank as lenders’ technical advisor, undertaking pre-construction technical due diligence and construction monitoring through to commercial operation.

We are proud to be involved in the Infinity 50 Solar Park and congratulate the developers and project partners on this significant achievement. We look forward to providing further expertise as work progresses at Benban Solar Park.
Bob MacDonald, CEO, Specialist Technical Solutions, Wood

As a global leader in the delivery of project, engineering and technical services to energy and industrial markets, the company has worked on a number of significant projects including Shams Ma’an, one of the largest solar PV plants in Jordan.
