Wood has been appointed by Transport for London (TfL) for services under the Transport Planning & Impact Monitoring (including Health and Safety and Environmental) Services Framework.

TfL, the integrated transport authority responsible for the operation of the public transport network and main roads in London, provides mobility for over 8 million citizens.

Efficient transport and mobility is central to economic growth. Transport is also vital to achieve the vision of the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, to create a liveable, sustainable and successful city for all Londoners. The Mayor's Transport Strategy sets out plans to transform the city's streets, improve public transport, and create opportunities for new homes and jobs by encouraging more people to walk, cycle, and use public transport.

Wood has been appointed to the 4-year framework and will play a key role in turning this vision into a reality for one of the world’s premier cities. Under the framework, Wood will  support the strategic planning, delivery operations, and major programmes (projects) across business units associated with the Underground Rail business (London Overground, Docklands Light Railway, Trams, TfL Rail), buses, cycle hire, river services, streets, and property.

Joe Sczurko, CEO of Wood’s Consulting business, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this transport planning and impact monitoring framework by Transport for London. It’s exciting to contribute to the future of sustainable infrastructure and mobility in one of the world’s most vibrant cities with a system of established transit networks.

“This is a significant win for Wood that reflects our breadth of expertise in delivering major transport and infrastructure projects around the world. TfL plays an essential role in the daily lives of every Londoner, and we look forward to providing value through innovation and leveraging digital tools to transform the way we deliver projects today and in the future.”

Under the Professional Services Framework (PSFW94201 - Transport Planning & Impact Monitoring including Health and Safety and Environmental Services), Wood will provide TfL with a range of services including transport planning, public consultation, water and marine services, environmental assessment, energy and climate consultancy, policy, and strategy planning, as well as town planning operational support and major transport schemes.
