Wood has made donations totaling £75,000, in support of seven charitable causes. The ARCHIE Foundation, The Salvation Army, Samaritans, Aberdeen Cyrenians, The Girls Academy, The Vine Trust and Elly’s Ward 10 Flag Appeal have benefitted from the company’s support.
We are wholly committed to providing support and showing care for the communities in which we operate. It is something we are passionate about and proud of, and our global employees consistently show great compassion in their efforts to support others less fortunate.
These seven tremendous and inspiring charities, that provide much-valued help to improve lives across the globe, are extremely close to our heart and we are delighted to make these donations to support them in continuing to deliver the commendable work that they do.
About the charities:
The ARCHIE Foundation supports the healthcare of nearly 200,000 sick children in the North East of Scotland annually by buying specialist equipment, supporting families, creating amazing hospital environments, enhancing staff training, buying toys, funding research, providing specialist staff and responding in emergencies.
The Salvation Army is a worldwide Christian church and registered charity, working in 128 countries, demonstrating Christian principles through practical support; offering unconditional friendship, and very practical help to people of all ages, backgrounds and needs.
Samaritans has been helping people who are struggling to cope since 1953. Available round the clock, every single day of the year they deliver support from the organisation’s 201 branches across the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Aberdeen Cyrenians is a local charity established in 1968, dedicated to those who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or affected by homelessness, violence, domestic abuse and other forms of social exclusion. As well as providing practical interventions to alleviate need in the shorter term, the aim is to offer advice and support to our service users to enable them to contribute positively to society in the long term.
The Girls Academy is an initiative of Role Models and Leaders Australia (RMLA), a not-for-profit charitable organisation founded in 2004. The Girls Academy develops and empowers Aboriginal girls through leadership training, mentoring, sport and extra-curricular programs. Our goal is to create an environment within schools where the girls receive the support and programs needed to help them realise their full potential.
The Vine Trust is an international development charity which enables volunteers to provide medical, home-building and care support to communities living in severe poverty in Tanzania and Peru. We aim to empower communities; connecting enthusiastic volunteers with in-country partners and local people to create significant, sustainable development for vulnerable children and families.
